A peaceful weekend in Tallinn: A 48-hour itinerary by a local host

Perfect for couples, solo travelers, and anyone seeking calm experiences — without missing the best of the city.

Intro:

Tallinn isn’t just medieval towers and trendy cafés — it’s also a city full of quiet charm, creative local spots, and peaceful corners hidden in plain sight. Whether you're traveling as a couple, a solo adventurer, or simply need a reset, here’s a slow-paced, curated 48-hour Tallinn itinerary built on real local experience.

We host travelers in our calm studio in central Tallinn — and this guide reflects the places we genuinely recommend to guests seeking a peaceful, cozy stay with a touch of local magic.

Day 1 – Arrival & Soft Exploration

Afternoon Arrival – Settle into Your Stay

If you’re staying at Cozy Oasis Havens (or a similar peaceful place), settle in and grab a cup of tea. You’ll find plenty of calm just walking through the wooden-house neighborhoods of Kalamaja or Kadriorg.

Dinner: Plant-Based Bites at Lendav Taldrik

Head to Lendav Taldrik in Telliskivi – one of the most vibrant creative areas in the city. Their menu includes excellent vegetarian and vegan options, and their atmospheric garden seating offers a soft start to your trip.

Evening: Stroll Through the Creative City

After dinner, take a light stroll around Telliskivi Creative City. Visit a small gallery, browse a bookstore, or simply enjoy the street art and relaxed vibe.

Day 2 – Nature, Culture & Local Flavor

Morning: Kadriorg Park + Eco-Conscious Coffee

Start your morning at NOP Café, a locally loved organic café with plenty of vegetarian options and compostable packaging. From there, walk into Kadriorg Park — especially beautiful in the morning. Bring a book, or just breathe.

Midday: Art & History

Visit the KUMU Art Museum or the Kadriorg Palace — both easily accessible and relatively quiet if you go earlier in the day.

Afternoon: Optional – Short Sauna Break

If you’re up for a little treat, book a small-group or private session at Ohana, a wood-burn sauna with an ice bath. It is located in a medieval style cellar, and can be a deeply relaxing break.

Evening: Wine or Mocktail at a Rooftop Bar

Wind down at Horisont Bar, or, if you're looking for something quieter, Botaanik Bar (botanical cocktails in a greenhouse-inspired setting).

Day 3 – Departure & Local Farewell

Morning: Local Breakfast & Slow Souvenirs

Pick up handmade Estonian chocolates, wool products, or natural soaps at shops like Tali Design or Kalamaja Pagarikoda (a peaceful bakery with artisan bread and pastries).

If you're leaving late, grab a seat at Røst Bakery and reflect on your trip with a cinnamon bun and locally roasted coffee.

Final Tips:

  • Tallinn is walkable and public-transport friendly — no car needed. In addition Bolt taxis are plenty and affordable.

  • Bring layers – weather shifts quickly.

  • Most locals speak English and appreciate kind travelers.
